Mysteries of Transformation
The story follows Xapien as he leaves his cave room, abandoning his four friends and parents in order to decipher his dreams. Along the way, he enters the doors to hidden worlds and meets 3 wise people who become
his mentors. They reveal to him some of the mysteries of transformation in order for him to discover his true light. His parents and friends had lost track of him, and one of his mentors abandoned him near the cave's exit.
He continues his journey alone, attempting to escape the cave and defeat the dragon "Chayos".

It’s a very beautiful and interesting guide for enlightenment and transformation for the ones have the courage to get out of the so called “the cave” of our fears and false teachings to face Life and find our true light and true self. What I understood the first time I read was different from what I understood the 2nd time and I’m sure if I read it again a year from now I’ll have a whole different interpretation. The symbolism in the book made it more interesting for me, it challenged me to stop and think of every detail and try to understand the true meaning behind it. Each one of us will understand it in his/her own way depending on how we think and where we are in life or what we are dealing with at the moment and on the amount of openness and willingness we have to stretch our minds and try to decode all the mysteries mentioned in the book.

If I would want to sum up the “Mysteries of Transformation" book, I would start by quoting Anthony De Mello: “Wisdom tends to grow in proportion to one’s awareness of one’s ignorance”.
The book depicts a lifelong journey of finding oneself through becoming aware of one’s ignorance. With the use of symbolism, the author tried to explain the process of self-discovery as an alchemical reaction where different “substances” or “reactants” added along the way are converted and used with the higher aim of finding one’s true self.
To practice symbolism, you have to look at what is not seen with the naked eye but through your own personhood. The objective knowledge of the symbol passes through the subjective knowledge of the person. And, since we are in a never-ending process of transformation since we go through different stages in life, this book could speak to you differently each and every time you interact with it. Thus, whenever you read this book you understand it based on where are you at in life right now and what is the missing or lacking “substance” that you need to find your true self.
I have personally read this book 3 times. Each time the experience was different.
Even though it’s a short story and you could be tempted to finish the book in like an hour, DON'T. Take your time with it. Take your time to really dive into its depth and reflect on your own personal journey.

Mysteries of Transformation was really enlightening. It shed light on how bearing Responsibility adds meaning to one's life and when you voluntarily face your fears, the challenges don't necessarily get easier, but rather you become stronger.
I was surprised with a number of complex philosophies/concepts discussed in the book. Ranging from the Oedipal mother, existentialism, narrative identity, logotherapy, Freud's and Jung's theories, to the subconscious archetypes, I was really impressed with how seamlessly these concepts were integrated within the story. This made them really easy to understand which helped me connect the dots.
Although the book is short, it packs really powerful messages that are explained in layman's terms. I noticed several themes, like sacrificing the present for the future, leaping into the unknown, and stumbling towards the light, all of which are essential rules for one to lead a meaningful life. I recommend this book to everyone as you will certainly leave not only feeling inspired but also encouraged to take action to transform your life.

This was the first book that I have ever read, I felt excited to read it till the end, its cover was the first thing that caught my attention, after I started with the first page I felt the curiosity to know more about that character "Xepian".

This book is full of signs that you cannot figure them from reading the book the 1st time, you must read it two and three times to figure out the purpose of these details.
